Rear springs - best ones to get

Been to WIM today and now need to get some rear springs, car is a 3.2 Elite Saloon with air/self levelling shocks (I've got a new set of them to go on already).

Does anyone know a part number and price? They don't appear to be on the tradeclub site so if there is a better or more cost effective brand then any info would be appreciated.

I've fitted BOGE coils and Monroe ride-leveller shock absorbers on several vehicles with no problems encountered.

The only option for springs for self leveling suspensions are Gm at over 200 quid a pair

Arghhhhh!  :'(

Is it best to fit new springs or would a used pair off an elite be OK? Seems a shame to fit new shocks then skimp on the springs?  :-/

As Marks said. S/L suspension = OE springs :'( If suppliers say pattern will fit with S/L they`re talking sh*t :P

Right, with the knowledge that self levelling springs are dealer only... What's the difference between them and normal saloon ones?

Been through this with the estate and when speaking to the manufacturers there comments were that they did not state that the aftermarket units were for use with S/L as they had not tried it themselves and therefore would not guarentee the outcome.

I've been running Eibachs for a year with no problems even when towing, the only difference being that the level does not have to drop as far before the levelling kicks in.

Yep, this sounds about right - we're into the actual technicalities of coil deflection here.

So I could probably get away with standard springs then? Fitting's not an issue as I can always use my compressors :y :y
