« on: 04 February 2009, 18:22:48 »

I took my 2.5 v6 gls for a service yesterday and when i left the spanner monkey said they hadn't checked the auto box as its a sealed unit with no top up facility on it
I dont belive him can anyone on her tell me the truth and if possible show pictures of where the fill port is on the box so i can head back over there and get the service i paid for
Regards

Not a traditional fill/drain system.  Its not sealed, and should be done every 70k.

To empty, remove gearbox sump.  Fill hole on side of sump.

BUT, would you trust the idiot to do it properly?

As TheBoy said it's not sealed but is a pain to check level as has no dipstick so you have to fill through the plug on side there is a guide in maintenance section :y

Start car, car has to be level, undo fill bolt, and fill up to bottom edge of this plug.

If the oil is old, expect a load to come out - as the oil breaks down, its expands.
