Fitting CC to my 2.5td was literally a case of fitting the CC stalk and that was it, job done. Apparently most, if not all 2.5td's, are already enabled.
Not used to things being that simple when I attempt anything  :o  ;D

All 2.5TDs are enabled.  Actually, the ECU throws a fault code if the cruise stalk isn't fitted, because BMW are gay like that ;D

2.0/2.5/3.0 petrols need the actuator/cable/stalk/brake switch/clutch switch (if manual), nothing to enable

2.2/2.6/3.2 (petrol and diesel) need the stalk and possibly clutch switch, plus a chat with Tech2
