New HID Bulbs not right
« on: 08 February 2009, 09:50:47 »

As said my other post i have replaced my old HID bulbs which where Osrams just the same as the new 4300k but after having a good look last night they seem to fire up with a very nice white light but then seem to fade to what seems more yellow.

have checked all i could and seem ok can anyone think of any where i should look. Whenn being replace i checked to make sure the glass part of the bulb was not held.

Any tip on where to look as over the past week these HID bulbs have been a real pain. May just put the old ones back in and see if it makes any diff

Thank

Steve

I believe that the 4300K HID bulbs are supposed to be a slight yellow colour and are reckoned to be the best for light projection as the white lights, although appearing brighter, do not actually project the beam so far.

Thinking about this, I'm sure I read somewhere that they don't develop the white/blue tint straight away? Can take a week or two.

I'll see if I can find the Web Page I read it.
