Xenon goes off after 20-30 minutes.
« on: 03 February 2009, 21:02:39 »

Today, I found that one hid light was off. Thought that it's just a connection, so I have checked everything, but later I've noticed that when bulb stays on for 20-40 minutes and will go off. Also when it's on and I will switch light off and on again this bulb flashes seconds later and is more yellow. If I'll try this next time it'll stay off.
I believe it's a bulb but just asking for a confirmation.

Most likely the bulb starting to fail ... when mine went it had a distict "pinky" look to it for a week or so, then just got slowly dimmer ... I replaced it before it actually failed.

Did you got a set of 2 or just one?

Mine is working fine - light is bright and no signs of "ageing process" (yellow light is just for a second). Thats why I am also concerned bout the electronic/electrical part of headlamp.

I did both on the grounds that if one was getting old the other was probably used an equal amount ...  :)

Got mine from here ...

Do you still have old working one? I might just replace it and wait for their death and replace both later. My newborn baby is causing me a home grown credit crunch ;)

Swap the lamps over, i suspect the ballast unit. mine failed in the same way, eventually the lamp won't switch on.

It looks like it was just a water ingress problem. I have cleaned all connections (I could only reach 1 HID plug) and since then few days have passed and it working fine.
Thanks for your help.
