For 2.2, any obdii code reader should work.  Generic readers will only read engine fault codes though.

I got one of these .. works really well on OBDII 3.2  :)

Avoid the cheap ones off eblay ... they are often chinese copies without all the bits you need !!!

This looks ok....what can it do? can it just read or can you enable/disable things on the car with it?

Will it work in conjunction with TIS 2000 software...

And finally will it work on my 2.2?

Only GM Tech2 will work with tis 2000

I think the description on the posted link explains what it does far better than I can.

It reads engine/gearbox codes and allows you to reset the EML

It is a stand-alone piece of kit so has no link to TIS at all

Its OBDII ... your 2.2 is OBDII .... so ....  :)

AS TB says ... you need a Tech2 to work with TIS .. you can get one of those here ...

http://www.bba-reman.com/content.aspx?content=tech2_gm_diagnostic_equipment

if you have £2795 to spare ......  and thats for the very basic model ...

not sure it properly reads gearbox, only those codes that the engine stores iirc

You are probably correct  :)

I only know that when it scans for modules .. it list the "transmission module" ... and when interogated has always said "No faults" ... and NO .. I don't want/need a transmission problem to test it on ... thank you very much !!!!!    ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
