no no no, we cant have this Laidies and Gents. Guy here on page 2 with no replies...sorry dezmo you seem to have slipped through.

not had this issue, but if the scuttle drains been blocked at any point then the water comes in via the pollen filter inlet and poors over the fan motor they say, then onto the carpets. Maybe someone knows how to test the motor?

Are the water pipes to bulk head both hot when the cars warmed up? Youll see them, follow the gap drivers side between the engine and wing back to the bull bulk head 1 above the other set in an oval. Hth.

Assuming you have Climat Control (CC).. Is there power to the unit .. ie is it lit up ?? if it is .. with the engine NOT running .. but the ignition ON  (all the ignition/oil lights etc on.. and I suggest the radio OFF) press and hold the Auto & OFF buttons at the same time .. after 5-10 seconds you should hear the system click, whir and recycle a few times, the fan stops and restarts. This a software reset and may help ... if the CC is not illuminated, or the clicks and whirs don't happen .. you have other more serious problems .. :(

Hi, when you say no heating or blower are you sure there is no heat. If the blower is not working it will feel like there is no heat. Get the car up to temp and turn heat up to full and hold your hand next to the heater ducts. If it is just the fan that is not working you should be able to feel a warm hint of air. Fan is a fiddly job but you need to narrow the fault as much as poss first.

i think i have the same problem too, i bought a 2000 face lift, the fan  works but even at HI, it does not blow hot air, but when i put my hand close to the vent, face direction, i  can feel a bit of warm air.

Why can't the car be really warm after temp gauge reaches over 80 degrees?, is my heater bad or what seem to be the problem?

Also my heater on my leder seat stopped working, is there any solution to it?.

cheers

New joiner today and I have a similar problem - no lights on the ECC but all the other electrics seem to be fine.  I've swapped the relevant fuses and tried the 5-10 seconds reset.  No joy.  Have I also got what has been described in reply 3 as "more serious problems" - like what!?

On my old 2.5, when the CC stopped working with no lights at all, but all fuses etc replaced anyway .. it was still under warranty .. so I took it back ... they had to replace the whole climate unit .... :( .. now they did that by taking one out of a W reg  (mine was a V) they had in stock ... and it plugged in and all worked fine  :) - I've often wondered if my failed one went into that W reg ....  but a CC unit is not going to be cheap .. even from a scrappy .. :(

If it is blowing but no cold or if it takes an age to heat up when the engine is hot, it could be an airlock in the heater matrix due to a possible leak of coolant somewhere, can you hear any gurgling when going along?

Had this on an old car, cured when I flushed the system fully

Update on my totally dead electrics on the ECC.  I took it to my friendly Vaux dealer (long story)and they diagnosed it.  Turns out it was a short caused by rear cigarette lighter having got damaged.  Must be on the same circuit?  Thought I'd let you all know - very random.

Anyway it's back - valeted and looking great.  Unfortunately it looks as if it's going to be for sale soon.  I'm looking for approx £2k - will put it for sale in the relevant section.  Would like to see it go to an appreciative home.  It's been a great car for us.
