I don't know what bent it. It was found in the MOT. At that point I hadn't started looking into what was causing the vibration. But yes I guess something else may have been damaged.

Clue could be in bent wheel. What bent it?Could be damaged hub or drive shaft.

My list of things to check is growing. Anything else worth looking at while I'm at it? I may as well check everything in one go. I think a trip to the father in law is required as I don't really have a clue what I'm doing (but want to learn)!

wondering if there are 2 seperate issues with this, somethin is not of true obviously, to cause the vibration, but the intermittant break wobble im wondering might be wishbone bush slop? Worth checking while you have it jacked maybe..?

I had the same problem here at the same speeds, I replaced the front discs, wheel bearings, calipers had the tracking done, had the wheels balanced three times as well. Guess what it was in the end?

Rear offside tyre bald on the inside wall. New tyre and three other wheels balanced with 5 stud balancer and no more vibration.

Hi,

For some reason I get vibration at just over 70mph, and it gets worse as you go faster (I've not tried above 85 though). I also get some, but not always, when braking. When braking it is mainly through the steering wheel, but when cruising then there is some through the steering wheel but also through the seat.

I've had the wheels re-balanced with no effect.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rob.

your rear tyres are distorted, or oval shaped invest in new tyres not part worns :-X

i had the same described problem a while ago ,went through wheel alignment , changed complete n/s front sus wheel bearing etc ( on the advice of my local repair shop) . it never cured the problem . it turned out to be a bush on the rear suspension costing £ 10 . Worth a check :D
