Fitting camshaft sensor X20XEV
« on: 19 February 2009, 11:27:26 »

Just a bit of advice needed how to replace it.Does the main body of the sensor just pull out of is it held in there somehow?

Regarding the replacment: Do i need to get a replacment cable and connectors as well or will just the sensor itself suffice?

General fitting instructions would be very much appreciated.Im a quick learner! Honest!

Just the sensor mate.
Do you still need the sensor I've got?

Be aware that Vauxhall brought in a new improved sensor a couple of years ago to address the problem of numerous failures. If you buy the new sensor from Vauxhall it comes with a little kit to splice into the existing loom - sadly you can't just plug it into the existing plug and a bit of soldering is needed. I did this job last year and haven't had a problem with it.

In that case vuaxhall supplied me with the wrong cam sensor for the x20xev engine hhhmmmm......... just the sensor on it's own. I know from previous experience that they may have made a slight modification to this but they still sell the cam sensor on it's own with out the mod kit so the sensors must be ok now.
