turbo??
« on: 17 February 2009, 23:04:46 »

i have searched for god knows how long,   is anyone aware of a turbo kit that i can get for my 3.0 v6.   i really want one.  but cant find anything.

i have been on dbilas website and they seem to do em for all but omega.   (Typical) lol

i know they pricey,  but my car will one day be a show car for my car club.  plus a heavily powered toy

Its possible to dual turbo them but I think its a lot of hard work and as far as I remember from posts the results arent overly impressive increase wise

there aint a huge amout of tuneing you can do with the V6`s

you can spend loads and get very little gain in bhp. when I looked into it
it just want worth the bother or money for what you gain

you could try a shot of Nos with a good wet kit and a progresive controler

but VX have never been the best engine` to Nos up

Believe courtney motorsport can still fit them on the mig-didnt they used to fit a single turbo on some of the motorway police omegas? As said tho, dont think you'll get an awful lot of extra power for the money it'd cost you. Probably get more for your money with the normal route of chipping/ good induction kit/ custom full exhaust system and lighter flywheel combination.

it's true, for the money you'd spend chasing bhp you'd be better off at looking at investing in a different engine altogether. v8 or something maybe?

on your existing lump you might get minimal gains out of uprated panel filter (dont go for an open induction kit on the v6), derestricting air box, stainless system with sports cats, lightened billet flywheel (well under half the weight of your existing one),  but not much more really, and even then with all that you might see an overall improvement of only up to 10 bhp.

Maybe parts from the Z28NEL/Z28NET can be used?

Interesting comment... there are a lot of folks on the vx220.org site that would disagree with that.  But I have no personal knowledge - I prefer to use Thorney in MK, who are a lot closer. They too have their detractors...  :-/
