oil in expansion tank
« on: 20 February 2009, 20:00:57 »

Would this be more due to a faulty oil cooler or much worse? The car appears not to lose oil and theres no drips underneath the car.I think its been covered but not sure.

The gearbox ATF cooler i in the side of the main radiator, it's your engine oil cooler that's failed - it lives in the middle of the V.
There's a how-to-do somewhere on the forum. :y

If oil only in expansion tank and no water in the oil odds are it is the oil cooler in the V, if you take your time and be  careful with the torques when re-assembling you should have a problem two other jobs i would recommend you do at the same time are clean the air breathers and replace the rocker gaskets if they haven't been checked / replaced also check on the spark plugs. Doing it now whilst it is a apart will save time and money in the future.
