Using Live Data
« on: 21 February 2009, 15:37:28 »

Im trying to find out why i have constant P0170 lean exhaust and constant MIL light on.  So if i have live data and my laptop what sort of things should i be looking for ie O2 sensor values , maf values etc ......I've seen lots of pretty numbers but they mean nothing to me  :-[

Thanks

The fuel trims (long term and short term) would be interesting, Lambda sensor voltages (see if there's activity) and, if you can get someone with a known good MAF sensor to provide some figures for comparison, the MAF voltage &/or volume.

Air and coolant temperatures - make sure they're plausible.

Would be good to see difference when maf swapped with a known one , as said.

Maybe someone here will be able to take some readings if MAF is suspect. I would be inclined to take some readings at idle and a fast idle, say 2500 RPM with a fully warmed up engine and compare with another car.
