Hi all,

Just found a leak from up behind my diff, seems to be coming from where the rubber/plastic pipe from the diesel tank joins the metal one that runs along the car towards the engine. When the engine is running it is leaking at the rate of about one drip per second, which would explain my poor economy!

Is it an easy fix, if so which part to I need to ask VX for please?

I don't suppose there's an easy bodge involving epoxy resin or anything similar?

Pictures of leak are not that clear, iirc, the feed is the larger pipe and return is smaller.  If return is leaking, just check its not blocked anywhere.

That aside, should just be a case of replacing leaking part

Sorry, it's not in the easiest of places to photograph, but it is leaking from where the rusty pipe joins the plastic elbow that has a blue bit on it. I've rubbed my finger around the join and loads of bits flaked off.

It is the smaller of the two pipes, so how would I go about checking for blockage?

in the floor of the boot is a round panel that screws to floor. this gives easy access to the pipes

I suppose I can't just remove that bit and use a couple of hose clips?

mine is rubber hose hoseclipped from the sender to the steel pipes. my car leaked from the return pipe and if parked up long enough would need to almost flatten battery or burn out starter before starting

New bit of pipe, couple of hose clips and it all seems ok.

Brilliant, you are lucky it's just the return. I would keep an eye on it though, Diesel is so searching.
