front lower suspension arms

Bushes (both front and back) need replacing plus wear in the ball joints so Vauxhall dealer is saying both arms need replacing - over £550 to do. Savoy Tyres is quoting £200 the lot. Any advice ??

I know which I'd choose!

The clue is in the price.

Bugger.... Looks like I'm closest then ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm more than willing to lend a hand if you're not confident to do it yourself or just want someone with a bit of experience to look over your shoulder :y :y :y

Have you seen the thread about the East Anglia meet in July?

vauxcentre do wishbones for 50 a pair or autovaux for lemforder items, same make as gm fit just without the gm sticker for 120 delivered. Diy mate, save yourself some cash. :-)

Just remember to torque the bolts correctly with the car on the ground/suspension loaded.

Do it yourself (with help from members here) - it will be a better job than dealers/garages, cheaper, and you'll have the confidence for other jobs :y

Ruud,

As a matter of interest why did you change/how did you know that  your wishbones needed replacing ??

Is it noticeably different now to drive ??

Cheers - Chris

Dont worry , it won't suddenly fall apart, but you may find strange noises/steering behaviour and over time your tyres will wear unevenly.
and it will be an MOT failure if its bad.

After you change them you will need a full geometry setup ( not tracking..)

Typical of the 'stealers' this.
I recently sourced aftermarket wishbones for under £30 per side!
