Heater matrix removed
« on: 25 February 2009, 19:39:41 »

After a hard days graft and sweat and a few tears i finaly managed to remove the matrix the hard way. The dash is now completely out, the only thing that is there the wiring looms and heat ducts.
I cheated taking the matrix out of the heat ducts by snipping the plastic fin in the centre and bending it back slightly. There is no way i was even attempting to remove the heat ducts jsut remove the matrix.
Dreading putting it back together. I had to remove the key transponder of the ignition barrel :o but i quickly selottaped the key to it hoping it loose its memory.
Taking both airbags out were the worst bits of my day, ok the steering wheel one was easy enough but i didnt like the fact there was 1.5'' of wire for me to take the connector off, but im here to tell the tale.

Just out of curiousity what is the best way to the flush the system? I think when the oil cooler went they didnt flush it out properly which has caused my matrix to blow as its all brown and skany inside the plastic housing.

I will keep you up to date, hoping to get it done friday  :y
