head swap

a freind with a 3.0  just phoned he wanted to know if heads from a 3.2 will fit on a 3.0 bottom end  he bought a car which had tensioner failure and has been offered 3.2 heads cheap i said i dont know but will ask

They are indeed the same....but swap the t vents over from the old heads to be sure they match the oil pump setup.

that chhered him up no end but he also wanted to know iwill the 3.0 cam covers fit or will he need the 3.2 ones

he has just phoned again
he has been offered some polished alloy ones off a vectra 2.6 will they fit he asks :)

Yes, they will fit BUT they will not leak if the breathers get blocked .So it is much more important to make sure the breathers are cleaned prior to fitting and regular maintenance in the future. Also the vectra covers dont have the long neck on the oil filler so you will need a funnel to top up the oil.

yes but, the holes around the plugs are large and square to accomodate the coil per plug setups so not ideal as crudd can get where you dont want it
