sudden powerloss when towing caravan.
« on: 04 March 2009, 22:12:36 »

iI have a 2003 omega 2.2dti cdx est. car has done 105;000m.no problems when solo;but on 3 occasions while towing caravan;the engine has suddenly downpowered to limp home mode and the ECU light has come on.the cure is to switch off,and then restart engine.this is very hairy when overtaking on motorways as it happens without any warning.would be grateful for any suggestions as to what could be causing this to happen, and why only 3 times out of the thousands of miles I have driven while towing

Well, the starter for ten has to be a fault code read to see what the ECU has stored as the fault.
