will it beep or anything if i get the speaker right
Eh? Why would it?

Best way to test is to go into volume settings, and adjust volume up or down. Each time you do this, it will say 'Louder' or 'Softer'

I moved mine up to main switch bank, next to drivers heated seat switch.  I have a early 1998 car, so it has soft touch buttons that are more common. Older cars need the harder ones, and so you're looking for a Vectra B swtich

Later ones fused in fusebox from memory, earlier ones (without the loom plug) as fused inline behind glovebox

Just curious, as mine has locked up completely in the past and wouldn't respond at all, a 'reboot' might have helped! ;D (99 car)

Fingers crossed .... it hasn't done it for a while now

Main plugs on back of cd unit probably easier to get to ;)

You must have girlie sized hands if you can get to the plug with the cd unit in situ ;), I'd looked there but could get my shovels in there!  ;D ;D
