You can get pipes under the tank on the drivers side on the earlier models too, the pipes are ovaled to pass underneath. Specialist only though AFAIK, never seen any off the shelf.

i wouldn't want to run pipes under the tank
its low enough as it is i would hate to hit a speed bump wrong and smack the exhaust into the tank :-/

agreed i aslo looked at possibly squeezing down the right side but  feel it will be to close to the tank , hot surfaces and all that .
guess it will just have to be one side or looking into a tank swap . but i will try powerflow to see if there is any way

Strictly speaking, for looks only...
Not a genuine twin exhaust system, as it appears to many people.
No performance gains over standard system...

as long as it looks the part and gives a nice exhaust note , the car has enough peformance any way , but i recon powerflow can knock something up that looks , sounds and also gives better flow. and i'm more than happy to put my car up for them to experment with  :y

Why not, go for it...
No criticism intended by my previous post...
Many times I have modified exhaust systems on my cars - usually tubular freeflow manifolds, plus systems only running one set of boxes for optimium exhaust flow, reducing backpressure on engine...
Usually end up with a nice rumble...

Let us know how you get on...

.................I believe that the thing that makes it possible is:-
either wrapping the pipe that crosses over or
using the same material to line the exterior of the petrol tank.

I understand that the irmscher kit wraps around the second pipe

My old goldie had twin irmscher back box while Rob`s one duplex system- it`s not as hard as you`d think as the side pipe goes underneath that little spoiler lip between the two outlets
