Following on from my trolley jack post...

Can anyone confirm the part numbers for the following bits are right for my autobox? I'm making the deadly assumption its an AR35, as I have a 2.6 DBW.

Main sump gasket - p/n 96014234
Small sump gasket - p/n 96014235
Drain plug washer - p/n 11023582 or 1638257 or 96041338 - I know that I'm using 96041338, thanks to my local stealer.

Autobox filter - p/n 96015432

Vx ATF Dexron III - p/n 19 40 763 / 90510269 (4.4L)

Better deal can be had from jpat for filters and gasket (40 quid all in as i recall) - or you can clean the filter in paraffin and use Loctite liquid gasket.

Vx ATF is very expensive.  I have bought some Fuchs Titan (4000 I think) for my next change 20 quid or so for 5 litres eg from Opie oils.
But you need 7 litres to be safe.

Do you happen to know how to change the filter? Is it easily accessible once the large sump comes off?

dead easy - a couple of bolts that are obvious.  Just be careful not to damage the seal on top if you intend to reuse.

And the box is AR25 in your car AFAIK...

Has anyone any ideas about the filter differences between different suppliers? I have one filter from a local "Speed Shop" and not quite sure if it's ok/as good an genuine... Or maybe I will just wash the old one.

the filters are pretty robust and clean up pretty well.

The biggest pig I found was scrapping the old gasket off the transmission housing while having ATF dripping on me.
