Exhaust's ?
« on: 11 March 2009, 09:50:45 »

While Mark (Marks DTM) was helping do my rear springs last week noticed the exhaust from the cats back were in need of replacing very soon. They are the original pipes (2002 - 124K) so not bad going.
Anybody on here know a place i can get a good one from?
I fancy a twin chrome tail if you know of a place that does them

You have the choice from
-cheapo Eternal type at about 100-120 for a cat back system (2 centre sections and rear box).  Mine didn't fit too well but others have had better experience.
-Vx system on trade card c 300 quid.  Latest ones appear to be no better than the eternal type. These dont come with the crome tail pipes any more.
- stainless c 400 quid. Nicest looking and longest lasting obviously.

As above, it used to be the way to go GM, as they were much better, orginal zorst on mine lasted 6 years and 105k, but now they seam no better than cheapo systems, luckly i got one of the last propper GM ones.

It seams its either cheapo route, or stainless.

On newish one like yours i would be temtped by stainless, Albatross had one done on his 3.2, looks very nice too

Thanks guys, i'm planning on keeping my miggy for years yet, there really is nothing else out there with the same quality you get with a miggy.
Think the stainless is for me. And if it lasts anyway near as long as the VX one i'll be very happy.
Any idea where Albatross got his done? or shall i just pm him for more info?
