Courtesy Lights in doors, CDX Estate
« on: 15 March 2009, 16:33:00 »

Greetings.
I have just purchased a 2.5 V6 CDX Estate, year 2000, It has small courtesty lights in each door. The covers for these were removed by the dealer along with the bulbs for display purposes. Now, the covers will not stay in the holder and fall out when the doors are closed with a bit too much force. Any clues as to why they will not be retained?

If you mean the clear plastic lens, these are bonded to the light`s body. Best bet is to prise the body from the door panel, note how it fits, then superglue the lens to the body and re-fit :y
Oh, and welcome to the forum :)

Thanks for that. So the dealer knackered them by removing. How is the bulb supposed to be replaced then if the lens cover is glued on? Seems a strange arrangement.
Thanks for the welcome. I will write more when I get time to do it at home. Trying to work at the moment!!

To replace the bulb you prise out the complete unit then remove the bulb holder. All will be revealed when the unit is out of the door panel :y

Aaah, thanks. I will check once I get the car back again. Only had it on Friday and it has been back twice for the same problem - split pipe on the EGR system.
But the few miles I have driven it were fab.
