how long you had the car?

was it working when you got it?

was it accident damaged?

it could have unclipped somewhere inside, but with my limited knowledge of omegas, my own being the only one anyone's actually let me touch, i wouldnt know just how much you might be able to see from underneath the car

how lose does it feel, does it feel slightly stiff?

Get a freind to lean on the bonnet front, then try pulling the release....

Hi,

Got it open after pulling the wire with pliers, works ok when bonnets open but when closed it goes funny, guessing its the bonnet catch itself, clean and grease tomorrow methinks ::)

Cheers,
Iain

I had the same problem, Doing what Tunnie says worked for me..it takes two!

When you have opened it you need to adjust the cable on the right hand side of the front panel...its a matter of undoing the screw, pulling the cable and refastening..

Mine now works spot on!

good luck

Agreed ... but it shouldn't be that tight opening the bonnet in the first place. Either the rubber bonnet stops on either side of the car have been wound up so that they are holding the bonnet high at the sides when it's closed or the bonnet catch itself needs backing off a little so that the bonnet doesn't need to go down quitre as far before it latches.

Adjust the cable properly, and also make sure bonnet stops are correctly set...

On the right of the slam panel remove the right hand Rad. cover panel and you'll see the screw holding the cable tight.

Loosen the screw and take up the slack in the cable a bit at a time until you can open the bonnet ok. :y

Spent ages today trying to figure out the adjustment....couldn't see a screw...

Figured out removing the cover panel (2 x screws with 8mm heads) but couldn't see any way of adjusting the cable....

Slacken the screw that holds the cable outer sleeve, slide the outer sleeve to the right & re-clamp the outer sleeve.

you need to remove the  plastic trim panels over the slam panel, the clamp is towards the right hand side ( as you stand in front of the car)
