my rear widows on my '98 2.5 cdx are having trouble winding themselves up, they get 3 quarts of the way and go back down, can anybody help?

ive got same problem dont know why . i just keep pressing window button fast of / on it goes up ? but some one here might know the problem   oh and welcome to oof mate

Had same problem on my Dads, the rubber in the rear channel was slightly adrift, have a look at that,  squirting some lube in there at the same time helped too

The windows will stop if a high resistance if felt as its for safety, could be this............

The problem is in the sensors probably.
The windows have sensors which are suposed to feel obstacles on the windows path. For instance not to trap anybody's arm or something when lifting the windows.
It happens to me with the drivers front window but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Try to clean the rails on which the glass slides up and down and maybe grease them or spray them with WD40.

got that problem on my back near side window will check rubber  sounds good to me  thanks

silicon spray in the rubber rails does wonders, or use cockpit shine [i get it from the pound shop ] as its basically the same thing

Right....again, lets get some real info in here!

The windows controllers (which plug into the base of the window motors) sense the motor current. If this is excessive then the window will wind back down.

This is done in order to ensure that the high torque motor does not close the window on say a childs head!

Its a fool proof setup and is NOT sensor based.

So, given what we know about how they work it sudgests that the window is meeting excess resistance somewhere.

On the rarely used rear windows this is often simply a case of dry rubbers/guides.

I would clean the window rubbers and guides and treat them witha  dry lube such as PTFE spray.
