Facelift front bumper
« on: 21 March 2009, 22:19:32 »

Hello all,

Wonder if anyone can help me with this question ?.

I have a 2001 Facelift model, and as it was a good deal, I bought it as too good to miss.

However, I didn't realise how difficult it is to find decent body kits for the facelift models. I've only come across two versions of the front bumper, the lip spoiler that goes on the bottom of the standard bumper, and the the Irmscher full bumper replacement one that costs £500+ before paint & labour to fit the thing !!.

Seems that the Pre-facelift has more options, so does anyone know if it would be possible to convert the Facelift to a Pre-facelift front end.
I understand that it would mean; Bonnet, grill, bumper, but would it be a weekend job to swap things over, or isn't it possible?.

Other than a swap, or if not possible, then I guess I'll have to try to modify one ?!.

Would appreciate any or advice that anyone can give.

Regards

Possible to turn a facelift front end to a prefacelift.

Add Headlights and extended washer bottle neck to your list and I think you are probably there!

im under the impression both bumpers fit both fl and pfl cars, although i have no evidence to support it. The mv6 fl bumpers is slightly different again.

Irmscher and Steinmetz seem to be the only body kits worth bothering with, unfortunately neither are in production. Anything else is glass fibre soon to turn to talken powder and fall off under you own wheels.
