Fuel Tank Vent

Can anyone tell me whereabouts the fuel tank vent connection that goes to the charcoal canister under the o/s/f wing is located? Is it on tank or filler pipe? Can it be got at without dropping the tank? I need to check the pipework/connection as I have been getting Emission Control Codes 441 and have narrowed this down to either a faulty purge valve or leak in piping.

I might be wrong but I thought the two hoses from the canister were routed directly to the purge valve. No doubt I`ll be corrected if that`s not the case :-/

No, one pipe is routed from the canister  through the inner wing to the valve (and then onto the breather box pipe) and the other goes to the vent connection at the rear somewhere on the tank AFAIK. Its the latter that I'm trying to locate.

Right. On the saloon the vent hose is attached to the filler neck and the connection that leads to the canister is located on the right hand side of the tank (looking from the rear). On the estate, the connection from the filler neck is located at the front left hand side of tank (again looking from the rear). Hope this helps. :y
Easier if you remove offside rear wheel and rear arch lining :y

Thanks for that Rob. Its a saloon so will take a look at the area you have described ASAP. I'm hoping that I will find that the vent connection was disturbed when the I had the car converted to LPG and that its not a damaged pipe on the underside of the car. I'm going to change the purge valve as a matter of course.

I'm getting a code 61 on my mini fcelift estate so will change the valve...if its not that I know where to go lookng next!  :y

Hello, just wondering whether this fixed the problem? I also have a code 61, I'm not sure whether to change the valve or go looking for a bad earth. Thanks
