Why did they change for the Y engines?

Which is best for my 2.6?

It removes an additional setup so cost reduction.

So the earlier is better - would it fit and would it be better than the later kit?

IME the timing is always bang on with the fixed tensioner so no point in having an adjustable one. You'd probably have to re-use the old backplate too.

..unless you skim a load off the heads, in which case the adjustable tensioner might come in handy.

Would be 20 thou at most (0.5mm) any more I would have to move ports and machine the inlet
