when i take the dash out of the car i am breaking i'll take some pics of it for you to help you work out what you are trying to do

Tried to add pics but failed. the how too on help a bit vague. sorry any advice on how too would be grateful

Sure thing.  First signup to one of the photo hosting sites out there.  I use this one...

Grab the link to the pic from the host site and add it to your post using the 'Insert Image' button.  Voila.  ;)

Hope it helps trying to remember how I fitted left hand side. I think I managed to hook it into the hole once I knew where it had to go.

   What model Omega is yours and has it got Electronic Climate Control? What I'm trying to ascertain is if the heater you took the pictures of are all the same across the range :).

  On the picture that shows the whole item i presume the rod has to go into the two holes I've marked?
Can you measure the distance between the two holes so i can see if my rod is the right length?

 Sorry to be a pain but is it possible to take a close up picture of the two areas I've marked as it looks like the rod doesn't go straight in the hole as there seems to be a plastic lip sticking out towards you as you view the picture, is that right?
