Climate controls confusion
« on: 19 March 2009, 21:35:19 »

Can anyone advise what "Auto" does that using the temperature selection knobs doesn't?

Auto is on the whole time - pressing the associated button does nothing except reset the fan speed to a medium setting each time. How do I turn Auto off?

you can turn auto off by pressing the 'ECO' switch.
With auto turned on the A/C works as well

Selecting any manual setting disables auto.

As already said, auto not only controls the temp (whch happens in all modes other than Hi and Lo), it also adjusts the direction of the air flow, fan speed etc based on various other inouts such as temp and sun position (hence the small dome like sensor on the top of the dash)

I've been wondering what that was!!  ;)

Still can't get the Auto light to extinguish except when I revert to manual controls. Switching the Eco button on/off has no effect on the Auto light. How can I get out of this mode?

Don't really need to - ECO shuts down the a/c part and Auto maintains all the climate control.....unless you manually override ;)
