All of which can easily be swapped into an elite if required...a lot easier than swapping stereo and electrics from an elite into an MV6 :y

Decisions, decisions. I may as well add my two pence worth as i've been in your position. I test drove the MV6 and the Elite in both the 2.6 and 3.0 engines. I have to say that there is a case for both and it comes down to personal preference. I loved the MV6 but the Elite won me over purely for the extras. The Bose stereo, the memory seats etc etc. and like Tunnie said, you can always stiffen the suspension up at a later date on an Elite if you want to. The one thing that I will say though, is go for the 3.0 if you have no problem with funding the insurance and fuel costs, it is much more gutsy than the 2.6 (sorry to all you 2.6 owners, just my opinion). Test drive them all and make your own mind up. Good luck mate!  :y

I know decisions decisions, i ve been there with fast hatches and saloons in my Cosworth days and hard suspension and the like are not a prority now  :) i prefer the luxury element nowadays and hence i'm directed to the elite.

I should have brought an elite from the start but wanted to try out the omega before commiting myself in depth and regretting it, i have the CDX model now in 2.5 guise and its pretty loaded as standard in all honesty.

The only extras i can work out the elite has over this model is

Better alloys

Bose sound system

Electric rear blind

Memory seats

Leather interior

Im sure there may be a few more bits......

Roll on the end of May :y

the one thing that really, really puts me off larger engined elites is those god awful leather seats fitted.  MV6's seat, be it cloth or leather, are comfortable, and look good imho.  Std leather seats aren't that comfy, and always seem to look their age.  Elite cloth is comfy though...

'In your considered opinion .....' It must be the way you sit  ;), the only gripe I have is that I'd like to be able to make them go that bit lower.

Yes, absolutely, my own opinion :y

In an Elite, given a choice, I would really, really want cloth (to the point of retro fitting it!)

For sports seats, as in MV6, I have no real preference...

I am of the same opinion. Test drove a few Elites with leather and found there's no lateral support at all. Then tried an MV6 with cloth interior and - well, the rest is history.

The rest is down to toys. Personally, I find the MV6 has all the toys I need. I have never felt the desire for a sunroof let alone all the other gadgets on an Elite. Bose system is nice but you've got to bin it before any further upgrades if you don't like it the way it is. Sat nav might be nice for convenience but 100 quid's worth of Tom Tom does the job on the rare occasions that it's needed.

Just a personal opinion but that's why cars come in different trim specs. TBH, I think it's nice that the Omega comes with the full fat engine option without all the bells and whistles.

MV6 would be more compelling for me as a manual, but that's another debate.. ::)

I'm with Vauxmad, I don't think you'll have any problem shifting it. You may have to take a bit less than you want though as in the present climate it's a buyers market. Again, as I said before, it all comes down to personal preference, try them all and see what suits you best. Good luck and keep us informed what you settle on  :y
