Still awaiting my TC but have found Genuine GM Semi Synthetic advertised on fleebay at £22.95 + Postage (For two 5 litre tubs).

Much cheaper than local VX garage who charged me £28 + Vat (Per 5 LITRES) the last time without TC

(Plus she is really desperate for the change so cant really wait)

Have to agree on that as both my RS Cosworth and RS Turbo were changed every 3,000 miles without fail...

I agree, I usually change it on my cars every 5000, but havent done this one yet. Going to do a change every 1500 up to 6000 to give it a really good clean out as its discusting at the minute. Plus Im going to try and take my skin off by doing it when its red hot so ensure as much of the gunk gets out the first time around  >:(

Please dont all shout at me!  lol

i have used Magnatec "10W-40" in my 1998 S Reg 2.5 V6 Petrol for years, WHY is it that when i just went to Castrol Website and you put your Registration in, it says the best oil is "0W-30"  is this correct?
or would i do damage to my car with this stuff?

and yeah i know how cheap the GM stuff is, LOL

im just asking  :)

i only do about 4000 - 5000 miles per year, if that
my car sat on the drive 4 - 5 days a week normally

Business is about trying to extract maximum profit from a customer.

Needless to say, they are recommending their most expensive (and bigges profit) oil.

Some people fall for it ;)

i thought 0w-30 would be a bit too thin?

No, it will be fine, ignore the bullshit, and change it when its starts to go darker, and not at 20m miles or whatever Castrol claim it will do...

Should be more than fine - but when you do your weekly oil checks, if the oil has gone dark, schedule it earlier.
