thanks pete, my wrists were red raw last night but ok now, bit sore  but at least we got that rod back on, vauxhall certainly designed that so no tinker could do it themself easy. cant imagine how much they would charge to do the work to put it right but it wouldnt be cheap.

All the thanks go to you Rich as like i said, couldn't have done it without you ;).

Wouldn't even like to say what VX would charge for the job or what sort of state the car would be in once they did ::).

Ouch, that sounds painful :o ;D.

I'm sure Tim that if you can get the car down south we can try and sort it ;).

I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago, passenger side hot, freezing on the drivers side, the actuator rod had come off the little servo motor, behind the centre consol, accessed via the footwell, as per the guide, space is tight, and it's a fiddly job. preferably done by a yoga expert with matchstick thin fingers.

Thanks Chris for your input ;).
Was the servo you had to reattach the rod to in the right footwell or left as the one in the How TO is opposite to yours(cold on left/hot on right) or is there only one servo and it's on the left?

Also not sure that yours being a facelift and mine a pre-facelift that the setup is the same :-/.

             Cheers,
                       Pete :y.

mine was cold on the drivers side, so it was that footwell, I read the guide, and then just went looking on the drivers side, It's exactly opposite.

Thanks Chris I'll take a look at that and hope this is causing the problem with mine, sounds hopeful :y.

Can anyone let me know if the Pre-facelift and Facelift setups are the same regarding the heater rod connections etc.? :)
