Erratic Idle 2.2 Petrol
« on: 13 April 2009, 17:32:09 »

I have an 03/52 plate 2.2 petrol, problem being it's very eratic when idling? Head gasket done 4 weeks ago, ehaust manifold started blowing last week, removed and re-sealed it, car starts ok from cold but as it gets warm it will not idle, fitted a new EGR valve and had all codes cleared hence NO management light coming on even with this problem so I 'm struggling to diagnose the fault? Could it be the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor? and if so where is it located?

How is the temp on the gauge on the dash?
Have the breathers been cleaned?
Any other leaks on the exhaust?
And... Can you update your profile with where you are... Ta

Temp gauge working Ok
Breathers cleaned when H/Gasket done
Exhaust manifold seems Ok but now very erratic from cold, will check again.
Is it worth blanking off EGR just in case i've been sold a faulty one?
I'm in hampshire at the moment but need to get back to Yorkshire in a couple of days.

Any other info much appreciated..........Thanks
