hello, i am a new member, i have had my cdx dti 2.2 estate 2003 reg for 6 months, it has done 74,000 miles, i like the car very much but recently i have noticed a tendancy to run unevenly most noticable at low speed and when idling.
i decided to have a full service at a garage which i have used for about 7 years and found them to be reliable. i asked if they would check out the uneven running. at the end of the service they gave me a list of things which will need to be done which are generally things i would expect and i will gradually get them done.
they were unable to shed any light on the uneven running and offered me the option of them spending up to an hour investigating which i agreed to.
they then said that after half an hour they traced the problem to the air conditioning, and at the same time they re- gassed the system to
ensure that it was not anything to with that. they said that there was a problem with the econ setting, the reason for which could take a long time to locate but that as long as i only use the auto setting everything worked fine and the uneven running disappeared.
i thought this was strange because i never use the econ setting but thought that i would accept their explanation for the time being.
since driving the car again it is evident that the engine does run smoothly when the air conditioning is set to auto but not only does it run unevenly when switched to econ it also runs unevenly when the air conditioning is switched off altogether
has anyone experienced anything like this or can offer any suggestions?
