a front disk and pad kit is about £70 +VAT from a dealer on trade club prices.  you'll not beat that from a factor and the quality is great. don't remember the rear prices and can't get into TC website:  need to do something with my pc to let me in and can't remember what

TC prices can be obtaied with an autobahnstormers card (search for the website of that name) or depending on where you are someone on here may help.

Got mine from Camberley Autofactors.

Front pads - £19.98 inc VAT
Pad wear sensors (fronts) - £7.99 inc VAT
Rear discs (pair) - £36.98 inc VAT
Rear pads - £17.98

Based on what I have seen of Vx main dealer prices, you can at least treble the above if you are daft enough to buy from them.

I got a set of Mintex Discs & Pads for my omega from a motorfactors they were a dam site cheaper than Vauxhall even with my Trade card

Mintex are a Trusted brand making thousands and millions of brake components in the aftermarket industry and they also make the discs & pads for various car manufacturers original fit parts!

also the rear vauxhall pads on the omega are a rite pita to fit if youve got new discs too!

I never had a problem fitting them at all....whole job (discs & pads) was done & dusted (both sides) in 30 minutes with ease.

If the pads were tight up against the disc, you couldn't have pushed the pistons fully home.
Water pump pliers and push the pistons back home fully first.
Once one piston is home, use a pair of long nosed molegrips to hold it in place while you push the other piston back.

If you are changing the discs at the same time as the pads, you can use a screwdriver between the pad & the disc to force the pistons back home.

Vented discs are thicker. May explane it. Also take the reservoir cap off to allow the fluid back up to the max level. Or be carefull the fluid does not over flow if fluid changed and topped up with part worn pads.

Indeed they are, but the caliper will also be wider to accomodate the extra disc thickness.

Good shout, forgot to mention that.

You'd be OK fitting them to MikeDUndee's car then. There's loads of room on ONE side of his vented solid discs!  :-?  :-?  :-? :y  :y  :y
