Bonnet opening
« on: 07 May 2009, 22:01:05 »

Hi I have a vauxhall omega 2.2  2001
when I pull the bonnet catch in the car it wont open the bonnet it just goes to fully pulled and nothing happens
so I have to dismantle the pull leaver and pull the wire with a
pliers and pull it realy hard to get the bonnet to click open
can I adjust it at all ?

Thanks Dave  :)

yup.

you'll see 8mm bolt that holds cable just in front of battery. Undo, pull the cabel until the catch just starts to move, and tighten

Isn't it under the trim panels from across the slam panel?

In the mean time get someone to push down on the bonnet, pull the lever and it should get the bonnet open with out dismantling.

mine is loose at the moment.

As already said really, remove the small triangular shaped plastic cover in front of the battery, then you will see a 6mm bolt which has an 8mm head holding a small clip that tightens over the bonnet release cable, slacken it and pull it about half an inch, that should be to much, then bit by bit let it go back until the bonnet opens properly with the handle. :y
