abs / traction control lights back !!
« on: 11 May 2009, 19:35:04 »

thought this one had gone but its back with vengence  :(

always seams to appear when i touch the brakes with the engine at low revs or coasting too a stop.

no patern to it .............. might happen 10 times in one day then not appear for weeks.

lights clear when ignition is turned off then on !!

have checked the abs sensors and they look ok and are nice and clean  :y

abs still works even with the light showing

my thoughts lean towards a vacuum leak  :-/  ( low revs )

is this one of the things that the abs/tc unit monitors ??

opinions anybody   :y

Replace the rear brake light bulbs - best use original Vx bulbs at least for the first time to establish the cause.

Had this problem on a 1997 car some years ago :(

Im not so sure your ABS will be working with the lamp lite.........ok your breaks will work but have you stomped on the brake pedal and felt the judder ?

if the speedo is working ok ......try cleaning all the break dust off the wheels and back plate,if it works keep em clean :y
