Running lumpy?
« on: 12 May 2009, 13:49:49 »

Hi

Having just changed oil cooler, the car was running fine.  It's been nearly a week now since I changed it and it's started running lumpy.

It only seems to do it around tickover and most noticable when first setting off ot low revs - very lumpy and juddery...It seems to run fine, other than tickover and first setting off.

On tickover, the revs fluctuate and it actually cuts out sometimes.

Any idea's apprieciated....I'm starting to wish i'd never bought it now...if it was'nt for this forum, i would have got shut by now :( :y

Cheers, very helpful

Could the problems be related.  I mean could one fault be causing all three codes?

Any idea's on what I need to do?

Where is the MAF sensor located?

Thanks in advance :y

Could it be a possibility that the lower manifold electrical connector block my not be plugged in properly (from when I removed the lower manifold)? :D.

Just a thought....

The MAF is the second sensor along the intake pipe :y

The problems could well be realated and sounds like whats causing the poor running, but electrics are not my strong point I'm afraid  :-/

Hmmm. The injector valve is the one what is throwing me here. The other two could be related they are very close together but the injector harnes is right at the back under the plenum. Your gonna have to take the plenum off to check that one. As for the  other two check the plugs first then pop the wiring out of the plastic cover which goes across the front of the timeing belt covers. I've just had to replace the ecu loom on mine so know where they run all the wires now. ...... ...... Wish I didn't have to know  :-[

Thanks mate....I am gonna take the plenum off to check the wiring harness connector on the lower manifold etc...first...

I will then look at the other possibilities.  I just hope it's a loose wiring connecter :-/ :y
