i replaced the coil pack on my 2.2 at the weekend, while that was off, i decided to pop the throttle body off, in doing so i had to take the coolant pipes off.

Lost maybe a 1/4 cup full.

Re-fitted it all and it works fine, but on the way to work i noticed the temp was running at a constant 81 rather than 85.

I changed the thermostat a while ago, and it previously ran bang on at 85 all the time.

I never released the cap on the coolant bottle when doing the throttle body, have i introduced an air lock in the coolant system, which is causing it to run cool?  :-/

Wouldn't an air lock make it run hot?

Remember pre and facelift gueges show differing caliobrations.  Mid guage is the best marker....

Both should be (just under) midpoint, and seeing as 90 is the midpoint on facelifts, 92 is too hot for the V6 (fans should be on at 92C), and low 80s tooo cold for 2.2

I am thinking air-lock / bubble?  :-/

Or i hit the temp sender, as thats near the EGR  :-/
