V6 Nightmare - Part 3 - Timing
« on: 24 May 2009, 20:26:01 »

Ok yet another update.

Got her all stripped down, cleaned and rebuilt today and now look like a tomato. Saved the timing for tomorrow moring as was getting late and have had quite a few beers so will do it sober  :D

One question though. The timing I got from VX does not have white marks where the timing should line up. I take it this is due to VX saving money again. Is there a trick to ensuring all the slack is taken up or will the tensioners do it for me ??

Going to watch DVD agains shortly just to get a better idea  :y

IIRC you're using a proper locking kit, so you can check the cam timing after you've put the belt on.  :y  :y  :y  :y

Yes Im using a proper timing tool so hopefully it will be spot on. Just worried I may end up with too much slack on one side.

I think Im winning if your only on day 3. Im on approx day 42 as I started it on Easter Bank Holiday.

Been one problem after another, and even if I do get it running tomorrow Im not putting it on the road until next weekend after my new timing cover comes and will tax her at the end of the month  :'(
