Tyres
« on: 20 November 2007, 12:56:34 »

Can anyone recommend a good cheap place for a full set of tyres? Anywhere down the M6 corridor between the M1 and J15 (Stoke).

I need a full set (and I don't want it to hurt too much).

Father in law used (well I did it all) Blackcircles.

Pick your tyres online
enter your postcode, gives you the local tyre fitters they have arrangements with
pick the nearest
pay.
wait a day or 2, go to tyre fitter who puts on your new boots, drive away happy!

Anyone used these? They seem a good deal, but I've never heard of them.

Never heard of em sorry.
how much?

Many mixed opinions on what is right to spend on tyres for the right mix of budget / grip / longevity.
Personally like a not too expensive, grippy, but not too soft tyre, I went for 4 Continental Sport Contact 2's, cost about £380 the lot.
Been very happy with them.

225/55/16

£75 each. They get good reviews on the Blackcircle website.

Just looked at my size pricing (235 45 17) those ones are £85 each
they do read ok.

someone was setting up a tyre review site, will see if I can find it...

Conti's up to £113 a corner, ouch, not sure I would be buying those again at that price!

Unusually when I bought mine, kwikfit were the cheapest (jan sale)  which was lucky cos I kitted out both cars on the same day!
