Hi guys, just noticed my tyres are wearing on the inside edge. Just the fronts, to be honest they are nearly due replacement anyway but the inside edge is much worse than the rest of the tyre.
Is there a common cause on migs for this? Didnt notice it until last couple of months and both fronts seem equally worn.

get the camber & alignment checked out.

Check your wishbone, particularly the front bushes. If they are worn they will allow the wheels to splay out slightly, particularly under braking.
If they are worn, change them and then as Johnty says, get a full geometric set up done.
A properly performed geo set-up and the car will be a pleasure to drive.

I didnt want to pay for the set up if there was likely to be problems first. Like you say, check the wishbones, which I will do first. Dont see the point in getting camber etc set up only to have to do it again after changing the cause of the wear.

Omegas do need less camber as the suspension sags but, as said, worth checking for any wear before shelling out on alignment.

Don't accept it if they say it's all in the green. The limits for camber on the Omega are very wide. You probably want it set to the low end of the range. I.E. 1^o10' - 1^o20'. The range on most alignment rigs allows over 2 degrees. That much camber will give you inner edge wear IME, although it does depend on the car.

If you're anywhere near Wheels In Motion you would be advised to take it there and let Tony sort it out.

Blimey! Just noticed you're in Alton.

A bit of a trek to WIM from us. If you don't fancy that I got mine done at Micheldever Tyres last time and got a guy who seemed to know Omegas reasonably well.

I have heard the outfit in the station car park at Farnham  do a decent job. I've never taken an Omega there but they set up SWMBOs MX-5 nicely. They are more expensive though.

Cheers Kevin, I will check out the front end and see how it goes. Have heard a few times that WIM is the place to go so may take a trip, not to far from here I believe.
