i've never liked the look of the little black stubby radio aerial on my car so i was thinking about spraying it silver to match the body work to maybe hide it alittle , but...would spraying it affect its ability to pick up radio signals?

wouldn say it'd affect the reception...but it'd look hella tacky in my opinion!

If it's a saloon it won't affect the radio reception at all - the radio aerial is built into the rear window....

....The stubby roof aerial is for a phone.

ive had trouble finding one of them with the same size fixing screw that the original has, the omega one seems to be alot smaller than any other after market aerial

Not in the slightest! Your radio aerial is in your heated rear screen!      IIRC Roof aerial is for pre-wired phone loom!

oh right! so that aerial on the roof isnt for the radio?!!  time to get the spray paint out then
