Radiator drain
« on: 25 June 2009, 15:45:11 »

Got a leak from the radiator drain, can't seem to seal it. Gonna have to drain and remove the radiator and see of I can reapair the drain.

Had anyone had this? Can it be repaired? If not if anyone has a radiator for sale I may need one.

Cheers.

Is the leak from the rad housing or is it the red valve. The valve unscrews and then pulls out. There should be a washer and 2 rubber o-rings on it. don't think you can get the rings, I had to buy the valve complete.

New valve comes complete with 'o' rings and are only a few £ from a Vauxhall stealer, unusual for them to leak but for the price worth a try.

Thanks guys.

Need to be the other side of the country tomorrow and this has been giving me a headache all week.

One of the o rings had split. Got a close-ish match from local parts shop and it seems to have stopped it for now. Need to keep checking it tonight and tomoz morning, I'm hoping the match was close enough.
