Cam Sensor
« on: 25 June 2009, 15:39:06 »

Put new crank dsensor on my V6.  Still getting Code 19.    Could this be the Cam sensor causing problems. If so, where is the cam sensor, know it must be near the cams, but exactly where pleeeeaaase.   This car is now seriously ?issing me off. Great car, but silly problem I can't get to the bottom of.   Help please

If you're still getting 19, crank sensor still "faulty" !!
Was it a genuine Vx part?

Done as suggested on other part of forum.  Sprayed carb cleaner lightly in engine bay whilst engine running to see if got any air or vacumm leaks. Nope none.

Did paper clip test again, Heyho, fault code 19 gone, but now got codes 57,59,71 & 73.  Me thinks me spraying near IACV, back of inlet manifold and front trumpets might have set these off - hope so!!!!  Using car on 200 mile run this weekend. Hope these will clear themselves.

Still got as if its missing a beat (misfire) but loads of power.  Could be only 5 pots firing tho.  Fingers crossed this weekend, might clear itself.
Thanks all for advice. Thanks for the forum.

There is no reason why code 19 crank sensor would translate to a cam sensor fault. Code 19 is crank sensor.
Note,
If you fitted a pattern crank sensor, go and buy a genuine one from vx and fit that. Throw the pattern item directly in the bin, they are shite.
