Alarm problem .. maybe ?
« on: 09 July 2009, 13:42:35 »

my omega prefacelift has started doing a funny thing with the alarm when the car is locked everything is fine no false alarms the car unlocks with no issues and no problems when the ignition goes on but as soon as yo turn the key to start the car the alarm will sound breifly until the engine starts and then every thing is fine again  :-/. i know its not a major issue (yet) as the car works but its getting annoying at 3am in the morning when my missus goes off to work in the car  :D . Any one got any ideas ??
Many thanks Paul .

Possibly the powersounder starting to fail ... if it's not holding a full charge the act of starting might just be dropping the voltage far enough to make it "think" the battery has been disconnected ... ??

Or you have a high resistance at a battery terminal which is doing the same... just dropping the voltage a tad too much ??

I'd check the battery terminals for good connection and cleanliness, and disconnect the powersounder for a few days to see it that solves it. Powersounder disconnect talkes about 10 minutes .. theres a "how to" here ...
