Price from Jpat is £30 all in including delivery for everything except the oils. This is confusing now given VX price of £168 for same.

Is my box an AR25 on a 2001 3.2?

something still not correct - spoke to another dealer and part numbers he is giving are different to the first dealer

For a 2001 3.2 V6 auto does anyone know difference please between:

96014234 and 96041943 - Gasket
96015432 and 96041958 - Filter

I have been quoted £4.83 L full retail for Dextron 3

The 2nd number in each of those are incorrect....they have incorrectly selected the very rare 5 speed automatic box, not the 4 speed that you have  :y

All is clear now and will job will be done friday.

Price for job was fixed in advance with VX dealer at £55 - which is 3/4 of an hour I think. It took them from 10 am to 2.30 to change ATF - "we don't get this job very often".

I supplied the parts. Transmission Oil they say was in fact low - now changed 5L but not sure if they changed both pan gaskets as requested. They have reset codes and so let us see if fault is indeed cured.

Have to go to Manchester tomorrow but will not risk Omega until I am sure nothing is going to fall of after visit to VX as is usually the case.

Seems very odd to me but many thanks for the replies....
Its supposedly a 'sealed unit' and hence the oil level should always be fine.  The designer was obviously smoking something that day!

So, yes, bizarre, but true.

And a very long smoke it was too.
Left the dipstick idea out, but was a dipstick themselves ?!!.

Don't know of any other car that has this idea ?.  Don't know anyone with the New shape Vectra's or if they have the same set-up.

You're not the first person that's probably cursed about this, doubt the last to chap !!.

Got to check mine soon to !!!!!!  ::)
