slight rattle

hi all have slight rattle noise when starting sounds horrible but when you rev it goes yes and drives great using no oil and water i was told it was cambelt rattle against case but then told it was the lifters so any ideas it has112000 on clock so any advice would be greatful also temp stays around 95c  :y :y

hi all i have a slight rattle on my omega when starting had rac out to it they said cambelt rattle but someone said could be lifters any ideas

could be all sorts of stuff

cat heat shields
exhaust manifold
aux belt tensioner
cambelt tensioner
lifters

you need to attack it methodically and eliminate items one by one

1) where is the rattle exactly?  give us more of a clue

also, when was cambelt last changed?  If it is that change it NOW else you damage lots of stuff

at top of engine the rattle last owner said 2yrs ago changed belt 112000 on clock :y
