Whatever you do, be sure to fill the new one with diesel before fitting it :y :y :y

Fill the new filter with a bottle of Diesel Magic, fit the filter, start the engine and run at a fast idle for a minute or so and then take it for a short run.
It'll give the pump and injectors a good un-diluted cleaning. :y

Does the old one just screw off like an oil filter?
and read this somewhere 'When fitted, turn on ignition (not starter) and open the little 10-mm bleed bolt on the filter head until air stops emerging' is this right?

Fill with Diesel Magic > Re-Fit > Run Engine.  That's pretty much it. I've never had to do anything else. :y

I think they just unscrew but not 100% sure as not got a tractor!

If you fill it with diesel magic you shouldn't need to bleed it! Just do as the guys have said, and if it's not full when you've put the magic in you can top it up with a drop of diesel!

You will be able to get most of the bottle of DM into the filter - you might have a drop left to sling in the tank.

Hold it at about 1500rpm for a couple of minutes though - then take it for a spin.
