Morning All,

Does anyone know of an easy way to open a stuck deadlock....?

Basically, I let the wife use the car at the weekend and haven't been able to unlock the drivers door since....either by the remote, externally with the key or by using the internal button.  It looks to me as it's deadlocked / or the mechanisms jammed.  Strangly though the remainder of the car can be locked / unlocked from the drivers door.

Any thoughts..?

I think the solenoid for that lock has expired.  When mine (passenger door) was expiring it would frequently refuse to unlock, but later suddenly unlock itself!

The only answer in my opinion is to replace the solenoid, but in the mean time try again manually unlocking the door.  The lock may require significant pressure through the key to open, and the button may well not rise to indicate it has unlocked, but it will unlock! 

A replacement solenoid is Vauxhall part no. 090493702, £52.61 ex- vat with Trade Card, or £58.00 ex-vat without TC.

Managed to free it...put the window down and with a combination of inner button and key jiggling managed to free it.  Locks and unlocks by the key only now.....looks like I'm changing a solenoid at the weekend now then..!

That's good news Darren, and with the door now opening you can get to the solenoid easily.

I note your car, like mine, is a facelift, so if you do not know already it is wise to follow this Forum guide on how to remove the door card:

In addition, if it helps, I print below a 'guide' that I compiled for another thread on how to replace the solenoid easily:

"Straight forward enough job.  Use the door card removal technical guide as previously quoted.  Undo the three torx bolts holding the door catch mechanism in place that meets with the catch on the car door frame, and this will allow the whole of the internal mechanism to swing forward with the solenoid lining up to the opening on the inside of the door.

Simple undo the two screws holding the solenoid in place, disconnect electrical plug, and detach the roding from the nylon "loop" on the top of the solenoid.  Replace with new solenoid Vx part no. 090493702 £58.00 ex vat, or £52.61 ex vat with trade card. Reattach electrics, replace screws to fit solenoid, and be careful to reattach the roding to the nylon loop. Ensure the rod that drops down from the top button engages into the cup at the side of the locking mechanism as you swing the locking mechanism, with new solenoid, back into place.  Put back the torx bolts and tighten firmly".

Simples!
